Curiosity Connects

Thoughts as we enter Virgo.  In the Apache prayer book I’ve written about before, Prayers and Meditation of the Quero Apache by Maria Yraceburu, the last line of this moon cycle which ends today reads, "Can we know how rain or snow feels without being out in it?”.   Which seems such a wonderful reminder about the danger of being judgmental as we enter Virgo tomorrow.

As a generalization, Virgo’s see everything, which often leads them to be judgmental.  Being less judgmental is a big part of many Virgo’s life work.

It feels safe to be right.  To know that our way is the right one.  To think otherwise is to slide into the unknown, which feels unsafe and scary… unless in our uncertainty we allow ourselves to slide into Creator’s arms.  But knowing that we’re right and the other wrong seems to mean we are in judgement.

But even with those we are closest to, can we be sure how they have arrived at the place they are and what Creator is setting up?

When we judge others, we are elevating ourselves above them, playing Creator.  And this can invite judgement onto our own lives.  Of course, we should endeavor to improve things when we feel led to do so and when it is in our hearts to do so.  And then, do so with everything we got.  For sure.

But a  core teaching is that we should seek to bring about change from a place of acceptance— namely the other person has a right to be where they are— mercy as opposed to judgement, proactivity as opposed to reactivity, and curiosity.

And when we do it this way, we have more Affinity of Form with Creator, which usually brings us closer with Creator.  On the other hand, criticism, judgement, anger (unless we are "angry well”*) tend to distance us from Creator.

This video, from Ted Lasso, so elegantly touches on some of what is written here.
